Santana Alloy Classify Silver, Gold Area In Mexico
Santana Minerals (ASX:SMI) has identified silver, gold zones from rockchip sampling and diamond saw trenching at its Cuitaboca Project in Sinaloa, Mexico.At the La Plata prospect, rock chip results up to 1355 g/t silver followed by diamond saw trenching identified the following significant results:- 1 metre at 1995 g/t silver;- 7 metres at 131 g/t silver, including 3 metres at 278 g/t silver.The La Plata prospect was historically mapped as a narrow vein but the recent results suggest a wider occurrence of mineralisation than previously thought.This zone is the subject of a drill program being planned for the second half of 2017.At the Santa Eduviges prospect, recent rockchip samples and diamond saw trenches have defined a high-grade silver-gold flexure. Results include:- 3 metres at 2.9 g/t gold and 5 metres at 95 g/t silver; and - 2 metres at 176 g/t silver.Santana’s upcoming drilling campaign is focused on further delineating the extent of mineralisation within the already identified Mojardina and Jesus Maria prospects.
